Brand Values

Plants partnered with fungi 700 million years ago and left the ocean in search for land. In their hostile new home, plants and fungi had a symbiotic relationship; one provided shelter and protection, and the other provided food. Just as this partnership has endured through time, here at Forest Skin Lab, we too extract the beneficial components from plants and fungi to protect, nourish and rejuvenate your skin. Let us harness the power of botanical extracts from the forest to transform your relationship with your skin.

Our single most important value is to care.

When we look at caring we look at our Planet, Plants, and People.

Planet

"We must recognize that if we have become powerful enough to change the entire planet then we are powerful enough to moderate our impact - to work with nature rather than against it" - Sir David Attenborough from WWF

Our complex relationship with plants has resulted in the world as we know it today shaping not only the Earth’s ecosystems but also its societies and cultures.

Achieving the planet's balance and sustainable development will require systemic shifts in how we produce food, create energy, manage our oceans, and use materials.

We start to focus on low impact products and send our parcels out with plastic-free minimal packaging. We also offset the carbon from all our orders, our operations, and even our team's cars!

We have made our warehouse and workplace paper-free so everything is managed digitally. That means you don't receive any unnecessary paper.

Plants

Plants capture energy and carbon in the biosphere and influence the atmosphere; absorb almost all mineral nutrients that enter our ecosystem and underpin the nutrition and food supply of animals and people; have a major effect on hydrology and climate due to their water use; and produce a wealth of products ranging from food on our plates to fuel for our cars.

Humans and plants have a complex relationship extending far back into our joint evolutionary history. This legacy can be seen today as plants provide nutrition, fiber, pharmaceuticals, and energy for people and animals across the globe. Plant domestication and agriculture allowed human society to develop and our settlements to become more complex. As such, our modern cities and cultures rely in part on the stable and reliable production and distribution of food.

Our deep relationship with, and understanding of, plants has enabled us to harness their nutritional, medicinal, and aesthetic benefits. Many of the major global challenges we face will also impact our relationship with plants; we must protect their biodiversity, which holds vital information and solutions that will help us to protect our relationship with plants in the future.

From our factory to our commitment to reduce our transport emissions and use clean energy wherever possible, we take every step to care for our planet.

People

Caring for the people

We believe inclusion and diversity are key to everyday living. 1 in 5 Australians have a disability, or as we like to say, a different ability. We want to see a workplace that reflects the wonderful richness that we have in the world and the different abilities of people. It's something we ensure happens at ForestSkinLab and we support those who need it.

Wellbeing program

At ForestSkinLab we believe that beauty comes from within and we believe that it shows when we're living in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.

Our wellbeing program at ForestSkinLab promotes a connection with self, others and nature, helping us to feel good about ourselves and our contribution.

Wellbeing helps us to be resilient through the natural highs and lows that we experience. It's what makes it possible for us to not just 'function' and get by, but to truly feel like we're 'flourishing' at work and in life.
